A cast iron tub sounds like the least likely to off-gas, but if it is made in China, can we trust that it is lead-free?

We are replacing a 40 yr old fiberglass tub/shower unit, and want to find the least toxic, most eco-friendly tub possible. 60 x 30 alcove tub (we'll tile the walls).

If you are concerned with offgassing and a possibly inferior product based on the location of manufacturing, then invest in a custom made stainless steel tub.
